Client Services Support Officers are responsible for delivering essential prison services as part of dedicated teams that support operations Ongoing, Full-Time Opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service VPS Grade 2: $60,295 - $77,430 plus superannuation. The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Client Services Support Officer to provide a critical role at Western Plains Correctional Centre. About the Business Unit Western Plains Correctional Centre is a modern, maximum-security prison focussed on rehabilitation, housing up to 1248 people in custody. Western Plains features multi-purpose infrastructure which is adaptable to the evolving needs of Corrections Victoria and the people in our care. Modern amenities include medical wards, a cultural centre, and vocational training facilities. Western Plains provides a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to individualised care which motivates, encourages and promotes reintegration into the community. Western Plains has advanced technology which improves security, streamlines operations and enhances connections for the people in our care. Western Plains operates with three primary service teams: Workforce and Prison Services, Communities, and Safety and Operational Service which collaboratively deliver comprehensive services for people in our care, safety management, and corporate services. Through its innovative design and service model, Western Plains aims to create a thriving environment conducive to safety and positive behavioural change. This role is part of the Workforce and Prison Services (WPS) team, a team dedicated to delivering essential corporate and ancillary services support to prison operational teams and prisoners. Leveraging the technical ability and professional expertise of trained subject matter experts, the team supports the smooth functioning of prison operations while prioritising prisoner rehabilitation and safety. About the Role The Client Services Support Officer applies their customer service and technical expertise to ensure the compliant, efficient, and client focussed delivery of prison services across their designated portfolio within multiple functional areas of the centre. Service areas include: mail prisoner property prisoner finance gatehouse customer service operational logistics prisoner records prison internal transport Client Services Support Officers will rotate through different service areas over a set period. This approach allows Officers to enhance their career development and broaden their understanding of all team deliverables, enabling them to better support Team Leaders and Supervisors while also providing opportunities for higher responsibilities. Client Services Support Officers deliver service and support to the individuals in our care, as well as visitors and staff, all aimed at fostering a safe and rehabilitative environment and implementing a prisoner-centric operating model. Team members must prioritise customer service, teamwork, integrity, accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. This hands-on role requires you to utilise your strong organisational skills to prioritise and manage workloads effectively. You will work efficiently with minimal supervision while delivering exceptional customer service to the individuals in our care, as well as to staff and visitors at the centre. This position will require the direct contact with the people in our care at Western Plains and involves weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2024. Given the nature of the position, being a customer-facing role within the facility, you will be required to work predominantly on-site, with reduced working from home capacity. Some of your duties will include: Prepare stock estimates, obtain quotes, and organise purchases to maintain stock levels for the prison stores and prisoner canteen, undertake regular stock-takes, maintain accurate records and maintain the shop in good order. Maintain prison archives; liaise with relevant staff and stakeholders to facilitate compliant document management systems. Coordinate and undertake regular deliveries of nominated items and persons across the prison via the internal transport system. Assist in supporting the people in our care in the prisoner shop and updating prisoner records on appropriate systems. Maintain the daily operations of the Prisoner Property store, including creating accurate inventory of prisoner property held in storage and cell. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations. Well-developed computer literacy and/or knowledge of CV operating systems including E Justice, PIMS, Oracle. Demonstrated understanding of stores and warehousing operations.
