About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting business decision-making through accurate financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and maintain financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
* Manage general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
* Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts
* Prepare BAS, IAS, payroll tax, and other statutory reports
* Assist with month-end and year-end financial close
* Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and taxation laws
* Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies
* Monitor cash flow and provide financial insights to management
* Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Skills and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* Minimum 2–3 years' relevant accounting experience
* Sound knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting standards
* Experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
* CPA or CA qualification (or working towards)
* Experience in small to medium-sized businesses
* Payroll and superannuation processing experience
