Barefoot Floors
We are looking for someone to join our team at Barefoot Floors as a contractor to take on work in the Cairns region.
Barefoot Floors offer a quick and easy solution to drummy, loose & tenting tiles. Our simple & cost effective injection system helps save our customers thousands of dollars on ripping up & replacing their tiles.
We have been operating for 15 years across QLD & NT, and are looking to expand into the Cairns region and require someone to take on work on a per job/ casual basis.
As a Barefoot contractor, you are flexible to work when suits you, with set per sqm rates for all injection work, meaning you can earn good income without committing to full time hours.
This role is perfect for someone as supplementary income, however over time you may look to progress to injection work full time. This role will NOT be full time at the outset, but as our presence is more and more established in Cairns, more work will be available.
Role Includes:
* Quoting new jobs
* Communications with customers re: scheduling, troubleshooting and education on our injection system
* Injection of drummy tiles using our unique injection system (training provided)
* Lifting & replacing damaged/cracked tiles
* Installing expansion joints
* Grouting & Grout repair
We are looking for someone who is:
* Good with customers
o Polite, punctual and friendly. We have built a strong reputation Australia wide for our great customer service and it is vital that you are a good representative for our business.
* A good communicator
o Tile injection involves working closely with our office & the customer to deliver a great result in a timely and efficient manner. You must be prompt when responding to customer enquiries or any contact with our office staff.
* Well presented
o Our expectations are that our contractors are neat & tidy, and present in a professional manner. We have Barefoot branded work shirts for sale.
* Well Organised
o Our contractors are often managing multiple jobs at a time whether it be scheduling an inspection or completing a work order. We have a CRM system used to allocate, track and manage all jobs, and it is important that you adhere to our systems & processes to stay on top of your work schedule.
Experience & requirements
* It is not essential to have a trade background, however as we are working with tiles, this role will suit someone who has worked as a tiler or in construction before. That said, we have contractors around Australia that do not have tiling experience who have picked up tile injection through our on-site training and now work full time injecting so this experience is not a pre-requisite.
* Some exposure to construction is preferred to help with the practical aspects of tile and building work.
* A van or a ute is required- if you do not own one, we can lease a van to you at a cost to be confirmed.
* You will require a set list of tools & equipment which will be provided to you upon commencing training, however the main tools required are an air compressor, angle grinder, Wireless drill, corded drill (for mixing adhesive) and a H-Class vacuum cleaner.
* As a contractor you will need an ABN (can be sole trader) and Public Liability Insurance up to $5,000,000.
* You must have your ABN established before starting work as a contractor.
* Public Liability Insurance must be in place before commencement of any contractor work.
* You will need a driver's license.
Training
* Successful applicants will undertake on the job training in Cairns, and if required, may need to travel to Brisbane or Gold Coast for supplementary training
* You will be responsible for your own travel to and from Brisbane plus your accommodation whilst in Brisbane.
* Initial training is 1 week long
* Ongoing over the phone support will always be available if you run into trouble or have any questions.
* We will regularly travel to Cairns to provide ongoing training and support
Remuneration expectations
Our contractors are paid on a per job basis, depending on the types of work required. We have a set work order rate card for all services rendered, including a per sqm rate for injection, hourly rate for additional services etc.
Tile Injection allows our contractors to earn good income without needing to work 48 hours per week. Each job will vary in size, and we have a minimum rate for smaller jobs. You can schedule work as suits you, however we do expect that customers will be contacted in a timely manner and communicated with clearly.
