Description About the Opportunity As a Refrigeration & Facilities Supervisor, your primary focus will be hands‑on trade work, ensuring refrigeration and HVAC systems remain compliant, operational, and responsive to breakdowns. Your responsibilities will include: Performing repair, maintenance, and fault‑finding on air‑conditioning and refrigeration systems Responding to reactive breakdowns and supporting planned maintenance activities Conducting inspections across accommodation rooms, kitchens, laundries, and plant areas Supporting the upkeep of village facilities, including general repairs and non‑technical maintenance Coordinating day‑to‑day tasks and providing guidance to facilities or maintenance staff as required Ensuring work is completed safely, compliantly, and with minimal impact to room availability Assisting with waste management, grounds, and general village presentation where needed This role is ideal for a refrigeration tradesperson who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working in a close‑knit remote team environment. You’ll bring: Trade qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Current Refrigerant Handling Licence Restricted electrical licence (or equivalent) Experience maintaining HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial, industrial, or remote environments Ability to work autonomously and respond to reactive maintenance requests Strong safety focus and understanding of WHS requirements Valid Australian driver’s licence Full working rights in Australia (sponsorship not available) Flexibility to work day or night shift when required Desirable: Supervisory or step‑up leadership experience LF forklift licence Experience working in remote or resource‑sector environments What’s Next? Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of technicians, fostering a culture of efficiency and effectiveness in maintenance operations. Manage and prioritize maintenance requests, ensuring prompt responses and resolutions, especially for refrigeration breakdowns. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on refrigeration systems and other critical facilities infrastructure to prevent downtime. Identify and implement energy-efficient practices to optimize facility operations and reduce environmental impact. Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment failures and ensure smooth village operations. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, creating a safe and sustainable work environment. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring seamless integration with overall village operations. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all maintenance activities and equipment status for audit and performance analysis. Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians, sharing your expertise to enhance their skills and knowledge. Act as Civeo FM's key representative on-site, building strong relationships with the Village Manager and CLOUGH to deliver an excellent client experience. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years' experience in facilities management or a refrigeration technician role, demonstrating a strong track record. Relevant trade qualifications or a diploma in facilities management, refrigeration, or a related field, ensuring a solid foundation of knowledge. Exceptional leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team towards excellence. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, coupled with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges. In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure work environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with colleagues and engage with clients. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Proficiency in maintenance management software and basic computer applications for efficient record-keeping and documentation. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to remote sites as required, ensuring flexibility and accessibility.
