We are looking for a passionate and hardworking Revenue Team Leader to join our team at Singleton Council. In this role, you'll make a real impact on the everyday lives of people within our community by achieving important outcomes for Singleton to grow and flourish.

**THE ROLE**

We are looking for a highly motivated Revenue Team Leader to lead a small team to administer and manage Council's rating, water billing and debt management functions. You will also be accountable for managing payments owed to Council, including invoicing and statements.

You will have a tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or a related discipline and demonstrated experience managing the Rates process in a Local Government environment. Knowledge of the Local Government Act, Strata Titles Act and Valuation of Land Act in areas pertaining to rates and land valuations is essential.

You will be responsible for:

- Ensuring Council meets all legislative, regulatory and policy obligations related to the calculation and levying of rates and associated charges, and management of payments due to Council.
- Leading the preparation of revenue forecasts and development of annual rating scenarios for inclusion in Council's Operational Plan.
- Leading the administration of Council's rates and water billing functions, including distribution of notices, responding to enquiries, property valuation adjustments, and administration of pensioner concessions.
- Accurately maintaining Council's rates register within the corporate system.
- Managing the Accounts Receivable functions of Council.
- Managing and administering Council's Hardship Policy and debt management framework.
- Managing property transfers and the issue of Certificates under Section 603 of the Local Government Act 1993.
- Preparing statutory financial reports and returns.
- Reviewing internal control systems and processes to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.
- Contributing to ensuring a successful and smooth annual financial auditing process.

This position is offered on a full-time basis working 35 hours per week.

Remuneration for the position equates to an annual salary between $94,136 to $105,016 per year plus superannuation.
