Etta is searching for a hospitality powerhouse — someone who lives for great wine, thrives behind a busy bar, and naturally steps up as a calm, confident leader. This is a dynamic, hands-on role for a person who wants to do a bit of everything, and do it exceptionally well.
You'll be the heartbeat of our service: tasting and talking through wines you genuinely love, crafting simple but beautiful drinks, and guiding the floor with clarity and warmth. At Etta, we champion producers who care deeply about their craft, and we serve food that celebrates seasonality, community and joy. We're a neighbourhood restaurant with a loyal following — but we run with the precision and energy of somewhere much bigger.
What the role looks like:
* Selling a wine list built on artisanal, thoughtful producers
* Pouring, tasting and discussing wine with both knowledge and enthusiasm
* Leading the bar during service: batching, prep, cocktail execution, stock management
* Supervising the floor with confidence, supporting the team, and keeping service flowing effortlessly
* Contributing to menu ideas, pairings and seasonal updates
* Delivering warm, genuine hospitality that makes guests feel truly looked after
What we're looking for:
* Strong wine knowledge and a hunger to keep learning
* Advanced or professional level wine knowledge is essential for this position
* Bar experience with excellent technique and consistency
* Minimum 1-2 years of bar experience required
* Leadership that is steady, encouraging and solutions-focused
* A minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory experience is required
* A sharp eye for detail and high personal standards
* Curiosity, generosity and a genuine love of restaurants
* Availability across evenings and weekends
* Must be available for all evening and weekend shifts
* Australian work rights are required for this position
What you'll love about working at Etta:
* A passionate team who treat each other like family (in the good way)
* A strong, career-focused management team who will support, mentor and champion your growth
* A culture that values learning, creativity and professional development
* Exposure to incredible local producers and seasonal ingredients
* Opportunities to step up, take ownership and genuinely shape the role
* Staff meals, great tips, and real work–life balance
If you're excited by a role that's never one-dimensional — where you can pour, shake, lead and learn all in one night — we'd love to hear from you.
