Amazon is seeking Maintenance Technicians to join our team at our site in Horsley Park, Sydney.
As a Maintenance Technician, you'll keep our site operating safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing material handling equipment, automated packaging, and distribution machinery. You'll respond to breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, and implement long‐term improvements to reduce downtime.
We are hiring permanent day shift positions. The shift pattern includes 10‐hour shifts x 4 days and one day working during the weekend. These roles are entitled to annual leave and penalty rates where applicable.
Key job responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventive maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site.
* Put health & safety best practices first in all work carried out.
* React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected teams and work efficiently to fix the issue.
* Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
* Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
* Support and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.
A day in the life
Our RME Technicians respond quickly to any machinery issues, carrying out a range of planned preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is working safely. As an RME Technician, you'll also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigate, find, and implement solutions as quickly as possible. You'll also make suggestions for long‐term improvements. Working alongside senior colleagues, you'll undertake day‐to‐day maintenance tasks for general building maintenance.
About the team
We are a technically minded, excellent team‐player driven Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, guided by experienced leaders. Together we maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres.
Basic Qualifications
* Formal Trade Qualifications: Certificate III in Electrotechnology with current electrical trade licence or Certificate III in Engineering or Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner); or equivalent trade qualifications formally recognised in Australia.
* Experience with planned preventive maintenance systems.
* Experience fault‐finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems.
* Ability to read and understand electrical / mechanical drawings.
* Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters.
* Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with CMMS systems.
* Experience with sortation machines.
* Experience with maintaining/configuring bar code scanners.
* Experience with print and apply machines.
