About the Role
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team. This hands-on role leads financial strategy, commercial operations, and corporate services to drive long-term sustainability and organisational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax obligations, and audit processes.
Provide strategic financial advice to the Executive team and board to support decision-making.
Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies, policies, and procedures.
Mentor and lead the finance team
Commercial Management
Drive commercial strategy to enhance revenue generation and cost efficiency.
Evaluate business performance and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Support tenders, pricing strategies and financial reviews of projects
Lead financial analysis for new projects, investments, and partnerships.
Support contract negotiations and pricing strategies.
Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic planning.
Business Services
Oversee corporate services including procurement, IT, and administrative functions.
Ensure robust risk management and internal control frameworks are in place.
Lead initiatives to improve operational processes and systems.
Support HR and legal functions in financial and compliance matters.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across business services.
Key Selection Criteria
Proven experience as a CFO or senior financial leader in a small to medium-sized organisation.
Strong knowledge of financial and commercial management principles.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and stakeholder engagement.
CPA/CA qualification or equivalent preferred.
Experience in the services sector
Familiarity with financial systems MYOB and Syft
Exposure to management of IT and HR
Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
