Key Responsibilities
* Ensure adherence to food safety standards by maintaining cleanliness and quality of food products.
* Clean and maintain bakery equipment, ensuring it operates effectively to meet work health and safety requirements.
* Clean and grease baking trays, tins, and other tools to prevent damage and ensure efficiency.
* Have a good working knowledge of standard bakery equipment to perform tasks efficiently.
* Prepare high-quality dough and pastry from start to finish, using traditional techniques and ingredients.
* Create fillings for pastries such as tarts, eclairs, and Danishes (among others), using a variety of flavors and textures.
* Decorate pastries and cakes with glazes, creams, icings, and fruits to add visual appeal and create unique designs.
* Monitor and control oven temperature to ensure optimal performance and consistency.
* Coordinate the timing of bakery products in the oven, including loading, turning, baking, unloading, and cooling, to maintain an efficient and productive bakery.
