The Site Caretaker supports the day-to-day operations of the Cambridge Site, ensuring that the grounds and plant are well kept, clean and tidy. He / She operates facility support systems and equipment, handles repairs (self or retaining contractor services) and oversees various maintenance and repair services. In short, the role is the handyman of the building or plant. Job Description: Safety: Adhering to the company’s safety policies to create a safe working environment for everyone Full use of the Incident management system Office support: o Carries out office / building support activities such as office maintenance, post-room activities etc. o Assists with internal moves, moving desks and other office furniture and other material around Maintenance & cleaning: o Carries out maintenance and repair services, to the building and various items like office furniture, in offices and meeting rooms and to equipment; activities may include painting, repairing damages, etc. o Performs building preventive maintenance tasks (not plant) in order to avoid or reduce breakdowns (by regularly checking and cleaning materials or equipment). o Monitors cleaning materials, tools, and furniture and reordering as required. o Completed Audits as required o Gardening and performing landscaping duties including mowing and operation of street sweeper o Carry out common area cleaning o Maintain all roads, paths, grounds and gardens to a high standard o Complete cleaning inspections. Other duties: o Works according to established procedures, manuals and checklists, and maintains these in order to keep them up-to-date o Regularly reviews practices and procedures and makes recommendations for improvements o May perform other duties and activities, as directed.
