Overview
WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Commercial Lead Non‑Core to join our team. This senior finance leadership role reports to the Head of FP&A; and plays a key role in the financial strategy for the non‑core segment, driving performance, governance, and transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as CFO for the non‑core segment, shaping investment priorities and driving operational excellence and financial sustainability.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis to optimise outcomes.
- Oversee contract reviews and support development of financial models, cash‑flow analysis and cost frameworks.
- Deliver scenario modelling and in‑depth financial analysis to inform executive decision‑making.
- Ensure strong investment frameworks and proactively manage financial and operational risks.
- Champion continuous improvement and support organisational transformation initiatives.
- Provide support in building financial literacy across the business and influence key decisions without formal authority.
- Drive pricing strategies, margin optimisation and support major contract negotiations.
What You Bring
- CA/CPA (or equivalent) and senior finance experience.
- Strong commercial acumen with hands‑on contract management skills.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, modelling and business case development.
- Ability to influence and collaborate without direct authority.
- Proven track record in governance, risk management and driving change.
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence.
- Desirable: Experience in regulated industries.
