Position Overview:
We are seeking reliable and flexible Disability Support Workers to join our casual pool with immediate start availability, particularly over the peak summer period. Staff will support participants in a variety of settings, including SIL homes and community-based activities, across different days and shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide person-centred support in accordance with participants' NDIS plans and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs)
* Assist with daily living activities including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
* Support participants with community engagement and recreational activities
* Implement positive behaviour support strategies and respond to incidents according to policy
* Complete accurate documentation, including shift notes and incident reports
* Participate in handovers and communicate effectively with team members and management
Requirements:
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
* Current First Aid and CPR certification
* Manual Handling experience desirable
* Ability to work flexible shifts, days, including afternoons, active sleepovers, and inactive sleepovers
* Immediate availability to commence before Christmas and work through the summer holiday peak periods
* Ability to work across Newcastle and Maitland locations
* Strong communication, reliability, and commitment to participant safety and dignity
* Relevant qualification or experience in disability support required
