2. Casual role - up to 6 hours per week
3. Based in Darwin, NT

The Smith Family is a national children's education charity that works with children and young people to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty – so they can thrive now and into their futures.

About the role

The Smith Family is currently seeking Coordinators to run our after-school Learning Clubs in 2026 at schools in Darwin and Palmerston. Learning Clubs are designed to support students with their schooling through fun activities that promote literacy, numeracy, creativity, teamwork and life skills.

Reporting to the Team Leader, Learning for Life and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, you will be responsible for:

4. Planning, implementing and facilitating weekly sessions during school terms, with support from TSF staff and volunteers (2 shifts per week, one planning, one delivering Learning Club)
5. Managing the safety and wellbeing of the students and volunteers in Learning Club
6. Coordinating and supervising volunteer tutors
7. Ensuring supply and maintenance of Learning Club resources
8. Collecting weekly attendance data and semester evaluations
9. Providing TSF staff with regular updates on matters relating to Learning Club including volunteer staffing and student engagement

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

10. Experience working with children
11. Demonstrated commitment to learning, developing skills and sharing knowledge
12. Knowledge of issues affecting disadvantaged students
13. Good oral communication skills
14. Hold a Working with Children Card (Ochre Card) through SAFENT
