THE ROLE The Housing Services Officer role is a client facing position which supports the delivery of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing's housing program and plays a vital role in supporting client-centered services to individuals and families who seek housing assistance or reside in public housing. Housing Services Officers are part of a network of community workers and organisations that share the responsibility for working with vulnerable people to promote and support their wellbeing. Based in offices across the state, the role undertakes a range of tasks relating to tenancy and property management and the provision of housing advice and assistance. Housing Service Officers at Classification 1 are developing competencies in order to progress to a Housing Services Officer Classification 2 at the point when they are fully competent across the core assigned housing functions. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE * Perform routine housing functions, including providing advice, from a range of established policy, procedures and standards. * Assist in making appropriate referrals to internal or external support service providers in order to assist clients with their housing needs. * Undertake supervised home visits as required.
