About the role
The new Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner role will provide advanced, person-centred care across both acute and community settings using a hub-and-spoke model that adapts to the evolving needs of the Barrington Coast community. This hybrid model combines face-to-face consultations with virtual care to enhance accessibility and continuity of service. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including Palliative Care Medical Officers, Clinical Nurse Consultants (CNC), Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS2 and CNS1), and Registered Nurses the Nurse Practitioner will lead evidence-based practice to deliver seamless, high-quality palliative care. This role strengthens integration between hospital and community services, improves equity of access, and supports best-practice outcomes aligned with contemporary palliative care standards.

Candidates should have significant experience in palliative care, preferably at an advanced practice level, and hold Nurse Practitioner endorsement or be eligible for endorsement. Requirements
* Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and current endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner or, if transitional, evidence of substantial progress towards endorsement. If not endorsed, the Transitional Nurse Practitioner will be appointed temporarily (up to 3 years) to work towards endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner.
* Eligibility to Drive in NSW and ability to travel as required.
