We're looking for a highly capable Category Manager to take ownership of a large, innovation‐driven portfolio and lead the strategy, supplier partnerships, and commercial outcomes that keep Total Tools at the forefront of the industry.
This is a high-impact role with significant visibility across the business, managing one of the largest and most influential categories in the Total Tools & Hardware Group (TTHG). You'll work with major global brands, drive category growth, and deliver plans that excite our customers and strengthen our market leadership.
This is a full-time role based across our Port Melbourne and Heatherton National Support Offices.
What You'll Be Doing
* Own and lead the largest category at Total Tools, overseeing full end-to-end category strategy, planning, and performance
* Build and execute a long‐term category roadmap driven by innovation, customer insights, and commercial opportunity
* Manage strategic relationships with major brands and key suppliers, driving joint business planning, negotiations, and partnership outcomes
* Lead pricing strategy, promotional planning, and range optimisation to maximise sales, margin, and market share
* Analyse category performance, trends, and market dynamics to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency
* Partner closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Merchandise, and Store Operations to deliver cohesive and high‐impact category plans
* Champion category innovation: staying ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and new product releases
* Represent the category at senior stakeholder forums, influencing decision‐making across the Total Tools network
You're Likely a Match If You Have
* Significant experience as a Category Manager or Senior Category Manager within a retail or FMCG environment
* Demonstrated ability to partner with major global suppliers and lead strategic commercial negotiations
* Strong commercial acumen with experience owning P&L outcomes
* Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‐moving, innovation‐led environment
* Strong influencing skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
* Passion for tools, hardware, or high‐innovation product categories (ideal but not essential)
