Our innovative "wildlife without cages" Tasmanian Devil Unzoo is a global leader in changing the way zoos and wildlife parks can evolve in the 21st century.
Now you can join our team to help us tell visitors from around the world about our mission to move away from captive animals in cages.
We have no boundary fence so our local wild animals can come and go as they wish.
We call it our Unzoo project and it has been developed under a master plan by international designer Jon Coe – see .
Our focus is to tell our unique Unzoo story and to relate our 40 years of working with Tasmanian devils and how we are playing a vital role in preserving the species.
This includes monitoring local wildlife with remote cameras in the forests of Tasman Peninsula.

Tasmanian Devil Unzoo is situated about an hour from Hobart on Tasman Peninsula in Tasmania's South East.
About the role
We are seeking a positive and motivated team member for the role of Reception / Ticket Sales.
This is an opportunity for you to join a small team where you can:
contribute to each guest's Unzoo experience
showcase Tasmanian nature and its wonderful wildlife
work in a friendly small team
Responsibilities
Welcome visitors from around the world with a smile
Process and develop ticket sales and gift shop purchases
Provide five-star visitor experiences that embrace the Unzoo's ethos
Help with upkeep and maintenance of the Unzoo facilities and equipment, where applicable
Be a supportive, collaborative member of the Unzoo team
Qualifications
The ability to understand small business requirements
Willingness to work as part of an enthusiastic small team
Skills and willingness to complete reception tasks
A high standard of personal presentation
Willingness to comply with workplace policies and standards
RSA certificate
Good literacy and extensive computer skills
Additional Information
You will be working in conjunction with the Unzoo Management team, and on-the-job training will be provided.
This is a part-time position, but full-time may be considered for the right candidate.
The Unzoo operates 7 days a week therefore you must be willing and able to work on some weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
Tasmanian Devil Unzoo is a no-smoking and alcohol and drug-free work site.
The surrounding Tasman Peninsula is renowned for its spectacular coastal National Park, wineries, distilleries and restaurants, world-class walking trails such as the Three Capes Track, surf beaches and boating and fishing.
The area is home to a recently discovered species of marsupial and numerous endemic plants.
