The Role (Newly Created)
The Care Services Assistant plays a pivotal frontline carer role with a particular focus on nutrition and dining, supporting residents to live a fulfilling life through person-centred care tailored to individual needs and preferences. Responsibilities include:
* Assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation, and serving of resident meals
* Providing care and support aligned with residents' routines and preferences
* Focusing on meal choices, nutrition, allergies, and food intolerances
* Enhancing the dining experience socially and emotionally
* Engaging with residents during mealtimes to promote social interaction
* Using empathy and kindness to foster a positive dining environment
* Promoting resident choice and dignity
* Preparing and maintaining dining areas and providing meal service
* Maintaining accurate nutritional and dietary records
* Assisting with food preparation following food safety standards
* Managing kitchen stock supplies as required
To be successful, you will have:
* Strong customer service skills
* A compassionate and caring attitude
* Previous experience in restaurant or commercial kitchens (highly regarded)
* Willingness to follow directions
* Reliability and flexibility with shifts
* Good time management skills and ability to work under pressure
* Valid Australian work rights (passport, birth certificate, etc.)
* Ability to complete a police check
* Seasonal flu vaccinations or willingness to obtain
* Willingness to obtain NDIS Worker Check or equivalent prior to starting; costs are refunded upon appointment
