About the Role
We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our innovative product development team. You'll play a key role in taking new consumer products from concept through to production, combining creativity, technical excellence, and practical design-for-manufacture principles.
This is an exciting opportunity to design innovative products, working alongside a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, and manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities
Develop mechanical designs for new consumer products from initial concept through to production release.
Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
Apply design for manufacture (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles to ensure cost-effective and robust designs.
Collaborate closely with industrial designers, electronics engineers, and manufacturing partners.
Conduct tolerance analysis, material selection, and mechanical testing as required.
Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities.
Maintain accurate design documentation and participate in design reviews.
Identify opportunities for product improvement and innovation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or related discipline.
Proven experience in mechanical design for consumer products or similar industries.
Proven experience in Project Management.
Proficiency in SolidWorks.
Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles for injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, and assembly processes.
Experience with materials selection, tolerancing, and mechanical testing.
Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for creative, functional design.
Experience with Rapid Prototyping.
Excellent communication and teamwork.
Experience with simulation tools.
Experience in Creo 3D software.
Experience working with suppliers and manufacturers in product development.
