We are seeking an experienced and adaptable farmhand to join our team. Located near Launceston, our business is a mixed farming operation consisting of irrigated crops, cows and lamb finishing operations.
* The successful candidate will oversee the care and management of livestock, including feeding, processing and monitoring health and wellbeing.
* Responsibilities also include performing manual tasks such as fencing, machinery operation and general farm maintenance.
* Assistance with planting, harvesting and processing crops is also required.
* Maintenance of high safety and environmental standards is essential.
* The ideal candidate will provide mentorship and guidance to junior farm hands.
* Collaboration with the farm management team to identify operational improvements is also expected.
Key Skills:
* A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar agricultural role is necessary.
* Practical skills and knowledge of farm machinery, livestock care and crop cultivation are essential.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities are required.
