The Opportunity
This newly created national role represents a pivotal investment in Lincom's next phase of growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, the General Manager - Operations will take leadership accountability for Lincom's workshop, maintenance and parts operations across multiple sites. With the business experiencing strong national demand, this position will play a central role in establishing best-practice operational standards, improving efficiency, strengthening communication across sites, and ensuring every decision supports Lincom's customer-first ethos.
This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role suited to a pragmatic operator who brings structure, process and accountability while also building capability in a largely trade-qualified specialist workforce. You'll spend significant time across the east coast operations driving alignment, supporting local leaders, and embedding consistent ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead national workshop, maintenance and parts operations, ensuring disciplined processes, safe practices and sustainable commercial outcomes.
* Understand the nuances of each site and build collaborative, cross-functional ways of working that improve service delivery and customer experience.
* Mentor and uplift operational supervisors and emerging leaders, many of whom have progressed within the business
* Drive improved WIP management, cost control, timelines, reporting and job-level accountability.
* Identify pragmatic efficiency opportunities and embed continuous improvement without unnecessary complexity or disruption.
* Foster a culture centred on customer value, long-term thinking and reliability, aligned with Lincom's family-run ethos.
* Serve as a trusted partner to the CEO and executive team, working closely with key internal stakeholders.
* Travel regularly to national sites, with a focus on east coast branches (approximately two weeks per month).
About You
You are a proven operational leader from a heavy industrial, mechanical, OEM, equipment or automotive environment, accustomed to running multi-site operations with workshop, maintenance and parts functions. You bring a balanced leadership style - able to drive accountability and deliver outcomes, while maintaining constructive relationships, mentoring the team, and respecting the culture of a family-owned business.
You will ideally bring:
* Background in sectors such as heavy equipment OEMs, trucks, earthmoving or similar industrial service environments.
* Strong capability in operational process, WIP management, scheduling, job costing, budgeting and commercial decision-making.
* Experience building discipline and consistency in environments with varying maturity of processes.
* A continuous improvement mindset - practical, measured, and focused on what adds real value.
* The ability to coach and develop emerging leaders and trade-qualified teams transitioning into leadership or more commercial roles.
* High personal accountability, resilience and comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
* A collaborative, customer-orientated approach that aligns with Lincom's long-term relationship-driven culture.
