Job Summary
The primary objective of this role is to perform planned and scheduled mechanical maintenance activities on a wide range of fixed plant and equipment. This will involve identifying faults and performing breakdown repairs to minimize downtime and micro-stops caused by production machinery and equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a high level of verbal and written communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inspecting, testing and maintaining machinery and equipment
* Working with system diagnostics and fault finding
* Performing general plant and building maintenance work
* Undertaking specific project work upon request
The successful applicant will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions. They will also be required to use a variety of hand tools and power tools, including lathes and milling machines.
Requirements:
* A recognised mechanical trade certificate (e.g. Cert III Engineering - Mechanical)
* Minimum 3 years post-trade fitting experience
* Ability to interpret mechanical drawings
* Knowledge of food processing equipment (advantageous)
* Experience in servicing and overhauling pumping systems
* TIG and Stick welding experience
* Proficient in the use of CMMS packages (MEX)
* Competent user in MS Office suite of products
