Mid-Level Business Analyst – Organisational Performance

Are you a Business Analyst who enjoys bringing structure to complex problems and helping organisations measure what truly matters?
We are partnering with a well-established organisation focused on improving community outcomes across Victoria. They are investing in building a stronger data and performance capability and are now looking for a Business Analyst to join a newly formed team.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping how the organisation measures performance and delivers on its long-term strategic plan.
You will work closely with senior leaders across the organisation to define meaningful metrics, develop KPI frameworks and translate strategic goals into measurable outcomes.
The Role:
As part of a growing Business Analysis team, you will help build the foundations of organisational performance reporting across multiple directorates.
Your work will involve engaging with senior stakeholders, running workshops and translating business needs into clear documentation and reporting structures.
Key responsibilities include:
* Partnering with directors and senior stakeholders to define KPIs and performance metrics
* Building organisational performance and reporting frameworks
* Running workshops to elicit requirements and translate strategy into measurable outcomes
* Developing business requirements documentation and process artefacts
* Reverse engineering existing tools, processes and reporting structures
* Bridging the gap between operational teams and data / reporting specialists
* Supporting the development of dashboards and reporting capabilities
This role will suit someone who enjoys working in environments where frameworks are still being built and where curiosity, critical thinking and initiative are valued.
What You Bring:
We are looking for a Business Analyst who is comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and bringing clarity to complex or ambiguous environments.
Key experience includes:
* 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst
* Experience developing KPI frameworks or performance measurement models
* Strong requirements gathering and workshop facilitation skills
* Experience producing BRDs and business analysis artefacts
* Process modelling experience (BPMN preferred)
* Advanced Excel skills
* Experience working with reporting or data teams
Exposure to Power BI or Dynamics 365 environments is advantageous but not essential.
