Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL) Full-time (100%), permanent position with an innovative, high performing team Base salary will be in the range $91,658.60 - $98,330.37 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 6) Based at our vibrant and picturesque St Lucia Campus About This Opportunity As the Career Services Advisor, you will manage and deliver a varied portfolio of career services and co-curricular employability activities for students in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL). The role forms an integral part of a small team of career and employability specialists who work in partnership with other Faculty professional functions such as the Work-integrated Learning team, the International Students Units and Alumni Relations, as well as UQ’s Student Enrichment and Success team (SES) to support students’ employability development and career outlooks globally. Staying abreast of trends in student employability and graduate recruitment markets, the Career Services Advisor will be responsible for the facilitation of career development learning opportunities for BEL undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students, including our significant cohort of international students. This will include provision of tailored career advice to students, delivery of in-person workshops and virtual events, development of physical and online learning resources, engagement of academics, student clubs, industry, alumni and other stakeholders, and leading on strategic initiatives, as well as assisting in the development of promotional content for print, online and social media platforms. Key responsibilities will include: Design and Deliver Career Development Services - Develop and deliver a portfolio of generalist, discipline and/or cohort-specific career services, including virtual events, online resources, in-person workshops, mock recruitment processes and career consultations. Engage and Collaborate with Industry Stakeholders - Develop and maintain connections with industry professionals, employers, alumni and partners to support the delivery of quality career services. Monitor and Respond to Employability Trends - Stay abreast of trends in student employability markets, employer expectations and recruitment processes to ensure relevancy of services provided. Manage Co-Curricular Employability Programs - Facilitate and manage co-curricular employability programs and initiatives, including associated compliance requirements and record management in enterprise systems. Foster Collaborative Relationships - Build and maintain positive working relationships with students, academic and professional staff, and external stakeholders to achieve favourable outcomes for student employability and graduate employment initiatives. Develop Marketing and Communication Materials - Contribute to the development of relevant marketing content for social media platforms, websites and printed collateral. Support Systems and Data Management - Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of systems, processes and data management of all student and client activities to provide robust management reporting. Ability to collaboratively design and deliver engaging face-to-face or online extra- and co-curricular learning experiences to support students' employability learning and professional development. Sound knowledge of university degree structures, employment trends, emerging recruitment strategies and their implications for the career readiness of graduates. Demonstrated understanding of the employability development needs and career interests of international students in the Australian and global labour markets and the ability to work successfully across cultures will be highly regarded, as will be a proven track record of effective industry and stakeholder engagement. Enjoy a varied workload and be able to work autonomously and flexibly within a team environment. Managing individual workflows, improving team processes, and coordinating multiple projects and initiatives will enable you to ensure individual, unit and organisational goals are achieved.
