We are seeking a results-driven Senior Structural Engineer to join our team on a 12-month contract. You will provide technical leadership and hands-on support across structural investigations, scoping, design, audits, and advisory services for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will act as a specialist within the structural discipline, contribute to Safety in Design outcomes, and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and execute structural investigations, scoping, and design across water and wastewater assets
- Provide technical audit and advisory services for projects, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and life-cycle design requirements
- Champion Safety in Design (SiD) and ensure its integration into engineering processes
- Develop, review, and maintain technical standards and guidelines; contribute to technical writing and documentation
- Conduct site audits to verify compliance with standards
- Deliver timely information and documentation to customers; identify value-add opportunities
- Support knowledge sharing within the structural discipline and broader teams; participate in meetings and reviews
- Collaborate with Engineering, Asset Management, Operations, Procurement, and other stakeholders to meet customer needs
- Apply a customer-centric approach to deliver cost-effective, fit-for-purpose outcomes
What we’re looking for
- Tertiary Engineering qualification (essential)
- Chartered status or postgraduate qualifications with recognition by Engineers Australia (desirable)
- Robust knowledge of structural engineering fundamentals and practices applicable to large-scale infrastructure, with exposure to water industry
- Experience in investigation, concept, and detailed design, including auditing of designs
- Proven ability to deliver complex and critical engineering work on time and within budget
- Demonstrated capability in technical writing and standard-setting
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and with external consultants/contractors
- Commitment to Safety in Design principles and risk-based design thinking

Casual Loading
