The Team

The Department of Health is creating a new statewide pathology service, THS Pathology, forming a new team around existing operations. The service will integrate the current pathology laboratories at Launceston General Hospital and Royal Hobart Hospital into one service. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, THS Pathology will ensure procurement activities are compliant, ethical, and deliver value for money while aligning with government policies and legislative requirements.

The Role

As a Contract and Procurement Officer, you will contribute to effective sourcing, contract management, and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting timely and efficient service outcomes for Tasmania's public health system. In accordance with legislation, policy, regulations and processes, the Contract & Procurement Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with all procurement policies and procedures associated with the purchasing and procurement of medical equipment, related pathology equipment and consumables as well as services for the newly forming THS Pathology.

Key Responsibilities

* Facilitate and manage the preparation and evaluation of quotations and contracts for medical equipment, consumables and services in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
* Advise and assist Procurement Advisory Services with the preparation of tenders for medical equipment and consumables.
* Represent Statewide Pathology in the preparation and negotiation of medical equipment and consumable contracts with the Crown and Contractor.

Details of Appointment

* Permanent full‐time, day worker position.
* Working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
* Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
* For a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full‐time, part‐time and casual vacancies.

Salary

$98,255 to $103,069 per annum. Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Salary Packaging

Access to a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year plus other benefits if eligible.
