Reporting to the Managing Director, Client Partnerships, this role is responsible for leading News Australiaʼs national trading agenda — managing consortium and holding group agreements to maximise investment, increase volume, and optimise deal structures. This role will also support the state based sales teams on the delivery of Independent agency trading agreements from a national perspective. You will be the commercial architect at the centre of our agency relationships, owning the trading narrative and delivering against investment KPIs.This senior leadership role will work closely with commercial sales, finance, strategy, and lead the pricing and performance function to ensure trading deals are structured for long-term revenue growth, short-term performance, and market share gains across key agency portfolios.By effectively managing agency negotiations and contract delivery, the General Manager ensures the organisation remains competitive, collaborating with the Managing Director to align trading strategies with overall business objectives.Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the industry in which the company operates, including regulatory considerations, emerging trends, and competitive dynamics.Experience in building and managing strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, suppliers,and industry partners to support business objectives.Familiarity with financial principles and budget management, particularly as they relate to pricing strategies, promotional fund allocation, and profitability analysisNews Benefits is our way of saying thank you to our people for their valued contribution to News, our audiences, clients and communities.
