What You'll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:
* Development and implementation of sustainment‐focused cyber security measures, ensuring ongoing protection of delivered capability and alignment with Defence security obligations.
* Execution of comprehensive security assurance activities, including risk mitigation, threat modelling, security architecture input, verification of requirements, documentation updates, and ensuring compliance with ISM, DSPF and certification processes.
* Collaboration across security, engineering and sustainment teams, integrating CSCRM considerations, analysing performance specifications, reviewing requirements in DOORS, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
* Assessment and management of security controls and vulnerabilities, conducting risk assessments, identifying emerging threats, recommending mitigations, and contributing to secure acquisition and lifecycle security processes.
* Contribution to governance, policy and technical artefacts, supporting cyber security program activities, developing work packages, updating system security content, and producing high‐quality technical documentation and integration inputs.
What You'll Bring
* Specialist security leadership in sustainment and support, bringing the ability to analyse complex Defence systems, identify risks, and deliver workable, compliant security outcomes across evolving technologies.
* Deep expertise in Defence security frameworks and certification, including capability requirement analysis, oversight of cyber test and evaluation, investigation of security defects, and strong understanding of ISM, DSPF, PSPF and DCIAB processes.
* High‐level communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement, with advanced technical writing skills and the ability to work across teams, contribute to procurement activities, and maintain strong customer relationships.
* Strong analytical, planning and problem‐solving capability, able to design, execute and evaluate work to time, cost and quality targets while managing risk and driving continuous improvement.
* Relevant qualifications and Defence‐aligned experience, ideally including postgraduate cyber/ICT credentials, CASG project exposure, vulnerability assessment, information assurance, and recognised industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, SABSA).
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimumNegative Vetting 2 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance withInternational Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
