About The Role
The Geology Technician provides in-field and site support to Geologists by ensuring the safe transportation and handling of core samples.
- Assist in collection of core samples from field operations.
- Processing and preparation core for Geologists at the core shed:
- Wash and label
- Correctly orient the core in trays
- Photograph core
- Cut core
- Coordinate density testing on core and rock samples as required.
- Ensure the accuracy of data entry and integrity of data base is maintained.
- Ensure core is stored correctly and safely, using both mechanical and manual methods.
- Ensure core shed and surrounding area is neat and tidy at all time.
- Drilling Contractors in all areas of exploration, including core handling and siter rehabilitation.
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- Experienced in collecting, handling and storing core and samples (preferred).
- Possess good IT skills and accurate data entry skills.
- Be capable of working outdoors for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
- Hold a valid manual driver’s licence.
- Forklift licence is advantageous, but not essential.
