Daci & Daci Bakers Pty Ltd is looking for experienced PASTRYCOOKS for their venues in Tasmania in the following locations:
- New Town, Tasmania
- Hobart, Tasmania
Daci?&?Daci Bakers is a Tasmanian-born, family-run artisanal patisserie founded in 2011 by Naser and Cheryl Daci, with its flagship café nestled in Hobart's Murray Street. Designed as a European-style coffee palace, each site blends refined ambiance with high-quality craft.
The bakeries have earned a strong reputation across Tasmania for decadent sweet and savoury offerings, consistent attention to quality, and warm customer service. Intrinsic to Daci & Daci's appeal is its balance of classic pâtisserie techniques and modern innovation: croissants, éclairs, macarons and quiches are crafted with traditional French meth.
To be considered for the role you need to have a relevant industry qualification or at least 3 years' experience in a similar position.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
- Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients
- Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods
- Preparing pastry fillings
- Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
- Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products
- Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
- Operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits
- Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment
- Decorating of biscuits and cakes
- Making of sweet & savoury pies
- Working with the senior team on product development
- Experience with functions and events highly desirable
- Good communication skills with the ability to train and upskill junior team members.
