We are a global family-owned business with over 60 years in the mining, civil and earth moving industry. Operating in several countries throughout the world, this opportunity as an experienced HE Painter will see you in the Australian operation working in Mackay, Queensland.
About the role
* Prepare vehicle surfaces, including large truck bodies, by removing rough spots, sanding, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
* Follow work instructions and technical drawings to ensure surfaces are prepared in compliance with required standards.
* Select appropriate paints, primers, and other materials based on the specific requirements of the vehicle and its components.
* Ensure materials are mixed accurately to achieve the correct color match and finish.
* Utilize correct spray painting techniques to apply primer, base coats, and finishing coats to large truck bodies and other vehicle components.
* Ensure even and consistent application of paint to achieve the desired results.
* Inspect completed work for paint defects such as runs, drips, or inconsistencies.
* Conduct touch-ups as needed and ensure the final paintwork meets quality standards.
* Follow safety protocols when handling paint materials, chemicals, and spray equipment.
* Comply with environmental regulations for waste disposal and chemical handling to ensure workplace safety and environmental protection.
* Regularly clean and maintain spray guns, sanders, and other equipment to ensure they are functioning optimally.
* Keep work areas organized and tools in good working condition to ensure efficiency and safety.
To be successful you will have
* High school certificate or equivalent (required).
* Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial or heavy equipment painting (required).
* Previous experience with large vehicle surfaces (e.g., trucks, trailers, machinery) (preferred).
* Due to operational requirements, only candidates residing in the Mackay area will be considered.
* Current Australian Drivers License.
