Equities Analyst – System Capital (Melbourne)
An opportunity has arisen within System Capital for an Equities Analyst. System Capital is a bottom-up, absolute return equities investment manager focusing on the dynamics of a business’ ecosystem. System Capital was founded in 2022 by Lev Margolin, ex-portfolio manager of L1 Capital. Our team has over 20 years of experience and a strong track record of risk-adjusted returns. We are seeking an Equities Analyst to join our Melbourne team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior investors, contribute to high-conviction research, and play a part in building a growing investment business.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct industry and company research, including deep-dive financial and quantitative analysis
- Contribute to investment debate, stock selection, and portfolio insights
- Support the development of quantitative tools and operational processes
What We’re Looking For
- 3–10 years’ experience in financial analysis (buy-side, sell-side, M&A; or consulting)
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills (Excel essential)
- Demonstrated passion for equities and investing
- Tertiary background in finance; combined with STEM disciplines highly regarded
- Goal-oriented, curious, and driven to learn
- Role is ideal for self-starters who thrive under pressure and are prepared to commit to excellence in a high stakes environment
