Ready to take charge in one of Sydney's most respected catering kitchens?

Flavours Catering + Events is seeking a Head Chef to lead our production kitchen and events culinary team. This is a hands-on, senior role for an experienced chef who is reliable, innovative, and ready to drive excellence in a high-performing, fast-paced catering environment.

This is not a restaurant or café kitchen — it's a unique opportunity to lead within a dedicated production kitchen and events setting, delivering outstanding food for high-end corporate and private events.

About the Role

As Head Chef, you will be the most senior kitchen leader onsite, reporting directly to the Culinary Director, General Manager and Managing Director. You'll oversee our reliable, hardworking, and long-term kitchen team, ensuring consistency, quality, and innovation across all food production.

This is a hands-on role where you'll balance leadership with daily food production, prep, and dispatch, while also supporting menu development, staff training, and operational efficiency.

Schedule & Flexibility

Monday to Friday roster

Early starts 6am, finishing around 2–3pm

Flexibility required for occasional evening or off-site event service (approx. 6 - 8 per year)

What You'll Be Doing

Leading and motivating the kitchen team, setting the standard for quality and consistency

Overseeing daily food production, prep, and event dispatch

Innovating and contributing to menu development and seasonal updates

Driving efficiency in prep, kitchen organisation, and food safety compliance

Managing stock control, daily ordering, and cost efficiencies

Training, mentoring, and onboarding new team members

Attending and executing off-site events when required, working with FOH and operations teams

About You

Extensive experience as a senior chef in catering, production kitchens, or large-volume food environments (essential)

Proven leadership with the ability to inspire, train, and manage a team

Reliable, hardworking, and innovative — thrives under pressure with a solutions-first mindset

Strong organisational and communication skills

Holds a NSW Driver's Licence and confident driving automatic vans

Food Safety Supervisor Certificate required

Permanent residents preferred, sponsorship available for the right candidate after a qualifying period
