The Mandurah Offshore Fishing & Sailing Club is a well-established waterfront venue known for its relaxed marina atmosphere, quality dining, and diverse calendar of member events. Our kitchen delivers everything from casual coastal dining to large-scale functions, weddings, and club events. We're now seeking a motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team.
Role Overview
The Junior Sous Chef supports the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen. This role is ideal for an experienced Chef de Partie looking to step up and take on more responsibility, leadership, and creative involvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations across à la carte dining, club events, and functions
* Lead and support kitchen staff during service, ensuring smooth and efficient execution
* Maintain high food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
* Support menu development and contribute creative ideas for seasonal and function menus
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards
* Manage stock rotation, ordering assistance, and minimising waste
* Train, mentor, and support junior kitchen staff
* Assist with rostering and maintaining kitchen cleanliness
* Step up to supervise the kitchen in the absence of senior chefs
About You
* Experience as a Chef de Partie or equivalent, ideally within a high-volume or function-based venue
* Strong knowledge of modern Australian cuisine and seasonal produce
* Positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine passion for hospitality
* Ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* Understanding of food safety standards and safe kitchen practices
* Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and event-based schedules
