Facility Maintenance Procurement Officer
The Facility Maintenance Procurement Officer supports Council’s strategic goals by managing procurement and contracts for public building services, including maintenance, cleaning, security, dredging, and trade panels.
The prospect
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Facilities Maintenance Unit and Procurement team, overseeing the full procurement lifecycle, from tender coordination and quotation review to contract onboarding, compliance, and performance monitoring.
What you’ll be doing
- Coordinating tender processes and leading collaboration between Facilities Maintenance and Procurement teams for building services contracts.
- Facilitating workshops and gathering input to prepare and evaluate tender documentation in line with procurement procedures.
- Supporting contract negotiations and ensuring procurement outcomes align with Council objectives and legal requirements.
- Acting as the central liaison with contractors throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Monitoring procurement activities and contract performance, including compliance with KPIs and reporting frameworks.
- Providing administrative support across procurement, contract management, and operational coordination within the Facilities Maintenance unit.
What you'll need to succeed
- A tertiary qualification in procurement, contract management, or a related discipline.
- Substantial industry experience and strong knowledge and application of procurement legislation.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement within building maintenance, facilities management, and local government contexts.
- Proven capability in strategic procurement, including long-term planning, budgeting, forecasting, and integration of sustainability and social benefit considerations.
- Strong report writing and briefing skills, with a high level of communication and interpersonal ability.
