Sous Chef Position
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at our hotel. In this key role, you will be responsible for developing culinary dishes, supervising and guiding the kitchen and restaurant teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Direct and support kitchen team members to ensure excellence and consistency in the product delivered to customers
* Oversee the performance of kitchen team members, upholding a standard of excellence and uniformity in the products offered to guests
* Assist in creating menus, along with their corresponding cost analysis, to drive business growth and profitability
* Manage inventory levels and oversee all back-of-house food and labor expenses to maintain operational efficiency
* Implement procedures to ensure an elevated standard of presentation, sanitation, service, and product caliber
* Evaluate compliance with health and safety regulations and food standards to minimize risk
* Manage the recruitment, induction, training, and rostering of all kitchen team members to build a high-performing team
* Curate and refine recipes to meet discerning culinary preferences, restrictions, and sensitivities
Requirements:
* Hold relevant Certificate III Cookery qualifications or equivalent experience
* At least two years' experience working as a Sous Chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment
* Exceptional leadership skills, with experience in leading and motivating a highly skilled and diverse team
* Ability to work under pressure within a dynamic team environment
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
* Availability to work a variety of shifts as required, including weekends and public holidays
