Overview
As an HR Advisor you will be part of our HR Business Partner (HRBP) team. The HRBPs work closely with key stakeholders in the Australian Government Solicitor (AGS) Group to provide operational and strategic HR support and advice across the practice groups. The role provides support on a variety of operational activities and projects related to workforce matters within AGS, and HR advice to teams within the AGS practice groups.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with HR and AGS colleagues
- Support the continuous improvement of HRPB processes, policies, frameworks and systems
- Monitor and respond to queries from the HRBPs and the central HR teams
- Support processes and notifications relating to: Employee engagement, onboarding and probation
- Recruitment, including referee checks and interview processes
- Flexible work arrangements and leave
- Performance and development
- Employee separations
- Provide sound HR support and timely advice to AGS teams on employee issues and HR policies
- Assist the HRBPs with analysing and interpreting workforce data and other sources of information
- Communicate with diverse audiences in a variety of written, visual and oral formats

Eligibility
To be eligible for employment at the Attorney-General’s Department applicants must be Australian citizens. Applicants offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a police record check and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at a specified clearance level. The successful applicant must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information. Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
