Job Description

Responsibilities
* Challenge yourself in a diverse and interesting role supporting the Constellation Flight Planning System and the teams that use it to dispatch Qantas Group flights.
* Work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
* Full‐time permanent position based at our Mascot, Sydney Campus.
* Manage processes for the maintenance, development and evolution of Qantas flight planning system and its associated components.
* Provide specialist domain knowledge and work closely with vendors and stakeholders to ensure ongoing and continuous support of the Flight Planning System.
* Identify events leading to system failures, rectify and report such events to support continuous availability of the Constellation Flight Planning system.
Qualifications
* Experience working in the aviation domain, preferably as a Commercial Pilot, Flight Dispatcher or Air Traffic Controller.
* Understanding of computerised flight planning systems, key components and data flows.
* Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., ICAO, CASA) related to the flight dispatch process.
* Hands‐on experience with industry‐leading vendors or platforms in Aviation Information Management (AIM), Flight Planning Applications or Flight Optimization Systems.
* Experience using collaboration platforms such as JIRA and Confluence to document, track and manage project stories, tasks and workflows.
* Familiarity with software automation and its influence on business process in highly technical domains.
* High degree of self‐motivation, initiative and accountability with a proven track record of managing tasks and responsibilities with minimal oversight.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas to technical and non‐technical audiences.
* Proven ability to apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify, address and resolve complex strategic challenges.
* Temperament suited to working with people from differing backgrounds.
* Experience in change management and the ability to lead people through changes in business processes.
* Focus on people, invested in learning and development, and continuous improvement.
