Mission-Critical Propulsion Development Engineer
Job Summary
This is a highly demanding and challenging role that requires the ability to take hardware from concept through to flight operations.
* Collaborate with engineers and technicians from various disciplines to achieve successful engine performance in flight and during ground testing.
* Support live test and flight operations as the primary console operator.
* Exercise risk-conscious decision-making skills under high pressure across multi-disciplinary systems.
We are looking for individuals who can develop methods to achieve airline-like operations for the highest performing rocket engines in the world.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform design, analysis, development engineering, and flight operations tasks for Raptor engine propulsion systems.
2. Align resources to accomplish key objectives; assign clear accountability for important objectives.
3. Enable high launch cadence with unparalleled reliability through automated analysis of test and flight data.
This role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to continuously refine designs and practices for increased reliability and reduced costs.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
* 1+ years of experience with pressurized fluid systems.
* 1+ years of experience in hardware design, manufacture, assembly, test, and/or flight.
Candidates must be able to balance competing priorities and adapt quickly to changes in direction, schedule, priority, and/or level of depth.
The selected candidate will work closely with other engineers and technicians to push tasks to complete closure with a burning sense of urgency and extreme ownership.
