Job Description SHORT JOB DESCRIPTION An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Regional Finance Manager, Southern Region to join the team at Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd. YOUR ROLE The Regional Finance Manager sits within the Finance, Infrastructure and Digital (FID) directorate and plays a key leadership role in supporting the financial sustainability of MACS schools. Reporting to the Senior Regional Finance Manager, this role leads a team of Finance Business Partners to deliver high-quality strategic financial advice, insights and business partnering support to Regional and School Leadership Teams. Working collaboratively across primary, secondary and specialist schools, the Regional Finance Manager drives strong financial governance, uplifts strategic financial capability, and supports informed decision-making to ensure long-term financial stability aligned with MACS’ mission and values. WHAT YOU WILL DO Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Finance Business Partners to deliver consistent, high-quality financial advice and support to schools. Partner with Regional and School Leadership Teams to provide strategic financial insights that inform decision-making and promote long-term financial sustainability. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, reporting and year-end activities to ensure accuracy, compliance and alignment with organisational guidelines. Identify financial risks, performance drivers and improvement opportunities across the region, providing actionable recommendations to stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement and support finance-related change initiatives, strengthening financial capability and governance across schools. ABOUT YOU Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing, collaborative business partnering teams within a finance environment. Strong expertise in financial management, reporting, budgeting and forecasting, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, strategic insights. Proven capability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and provide timely, practical advice to support informed decision-making. Experience operating in dynamic and evolving environments, with the ability to influence outcomes and drive continuous improvement. Relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting or Business, with CPA or CA accreditation (essential). Experience within education, non-profit or government environments is highly regarded.
