Consultant Psychiatrist - Mental Health Assessment TeamNT Department of Health – Darwin, NT, Australia Remuneration Specialist Clinician SMO1.1 – SMO 1.6 - Remuneration Package: $249,959 - $305,454 (including salary $213,380 - $261,100) Senior Staff Specialist Clinician SMO2.1 - SMO2.3 - Remuneration Package: $315,843 - $349,187 (including salary $270,033 - $298,705) Selection will be made at the SC or SSC depending on experience/qualifications Top End Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service, Darwin, Northern Territory Fixed vacancy available for 2 years Role overview Provide clinical services in adult psychiatry at the level of Consultant to the Top End Mental Health Service (TEMHS) as required, participate in activities of the Northern Territory Clinical School in teaching psychiatry to medical students and in the Postgraduate Psychiatry Training Program of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). About TEMHAODS The Top End Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (TEMHAODS) delivers individualised, coordinated and effective health assessment, case management and recovery-focused treatment services, and collaborates with other agencies on prevention, promotion and early intervention strategies. TEMHAODS aims to maximise patient continuity, reduce duplication and improve care access points and outcomes. Key duties Admission, management and discharge of patients under the supervision of the Directory of Psychiatry Fulfil statutory requirements under the Northern Territory Mental Health and Related Services Act Practice in accordance with TEMHAODS philosophies, policies, procedures and standards Establish and maintain appropriate client records Participate in after-hours on-call roster Qualifications and eligibility Eligible for appropriate registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) Eligible for membership with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) Understanding of inpatient and community-based, multi-disciplinary mental health services Benefits Competitive remuneration package including 11.5% superannuation Six weeks recreational and three weeks personal leave Additional 3 days paid leave over Christmas 17.5% annual leave loading Opportunities for professional development in NT Health Additional information Relocation assistance may be available.
