This role offers you the opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s lives by providing evidence-based alcohol and other drug services to individuals, families, and groups. You will work closely with clients, developing strong relationships built on trust, empathy, and understanding.
You will be responsible for delivering assessment, treatment, and support services using harm minimization principles. This may involve working with clients who are experiencing addiction or substance abuse issues, as well as those who are at risk of relapse.
Your clinical expertise will be invaluable in helping clients set and achieve their goals. You will also play a key role in supporting the delivery of key AOD programs across the region.
About The Role
Key Responsibilities:
* Assessment and Treatment: Provide comprehensive assessments of clients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans to help them overcome addiction and achieve long-term recovery.
* Harm Minimization: Work with clients to minimize the risks associated with drug and alcohol use, promoting healthy behaviors and reducing the likelihood of harm.
* Clinical Caseload: Manage a clinical caseload, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress.
* Community Engagement: Engage with local communities to raise awareness about the importance of seeking help for addiction and promote the services offered by our organization.
* Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including medical staff, counselors, and support workers, to ensure seamless delivery of services.

* Eligible Practitioners: Eligible health practitioners entitled to accrue an additional three days professional development leave per annum.
* Rural Incentive: Category D allowance of $431.22 p.f.
Requirements
* Mandatory Requirements: Relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
* Criminal History Check: Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant.
* Vaccination Requirements: Evidence of vaccination or immunity to certain diseases may be required.
* Working with Children Check: Prior to appointment, applicants will be required to undergo a 'working with children check.'
