About the Role
Join the team at as a casual CDP at Rydges Newcastle working across Wharf 350 restaurant, events and in-room dining. Bring your skills, passion and knowledge for cooking modern Australian cuisine, locally sourced from the Hunter Valley region.
Led by Executive Chef John Rutherford, the kitchen champions seasonal produce and paddock-to-plate principles. Expect dishes that are thoughtful, flavourful, and beautifully plated—from Yellowfin Tuna Tataki to Riverina Angus Rump and indulgent desserts like our signature Black Forest.
Skills & Experience
* 2+ years' worth of experience in hotels, restaurants, or bistros at a similar level
* Experience across different sections including pans, grill and larder.
* Ability to train, guide and mentor junior staff.
* An eye for detail and maintaining product consistency and quality.
* Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
* Attention to detail, well-presented and high standards of cleanliness.
* Ability to multitask and perform under pressure, while still delivering a high standard.
