Graduate Occupational Therapist – Dalby, Queensland.

Employment Type: Permanent – Full-Time.


Practice Information

You will be joining an established not-for-profit organisation with over 90 years' experience dedicated to providing free, short-term early intervention therapy services to children aged 0‑13 and their families in rural and remote Queensland. Using a multidisciplinary, child-focused and family-centred approach you will help children reach their full potential no matter where they live.


Position Description

This is an ideal position for a new graduate Occupational Therapist who wants to grow their clinical confidence while making a meaningful impact in a regional setting. As part of the Brighter Futures New Graduate Program you will benefit from structured, supportive development opportunities designed specifically for early‑career clinicians. Your role will involve delivering therapy and supports for children fostering a holistic approach to their growth, development and overall wellbeing and may include children with a developmental delay or disability.


Support & Development

* Weekly clinical supervision
* Regular line management and professional coaching
* Clinical shadowing and observation opportunities
* Monthly learning modules focused on key clinical competencies
* Group supervision, clinical tutorials, and reflection sessions

You will deliver services through a combination of face‑to‑face, telepractice, and outreach delivery models, supporting children and families in your region. You will also engage in family‑centred practice, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to meaningful outcomes for rural communities.


Curriculum – Monthly Core Competency Learning Areas

* Strength‑based, family‑centred approaches
* Parent‑child relationships and child development
* Goal setting and outcomes‑based practice
* Culturally responsive and trauma‑informed care
* Parent coaching and relationship‑based practice

You will have access to an organisational vehicle suitable for regional conditions, wellbeing resources, professional networks, and support for ethical, confident practice in rural settings.


Position Requirements

* Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy
* Passion for working with children and families in regional communities
* Commitment to ongoing learning and reflective practice
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Blue Card (Paid) and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain
* Proof of Hepatitis B Vaccination


Salary Information

$90,930 Base + Super + NFP Salary Packaging benefits

* Additional annual Professional Development budget
* Paid PD leave
* Paid PD travel leave
* 3 days additional paid leave over Christmas period
