Senior Manager Organisational Development & Training,

Youth Justice

Ongoing, Full-Time
Location: Hybrid, Yasmar Training Facility - Haberfield
Clerk Grade 11/12 Salary ($149,739 - $173,174 pa), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave load

This is a targeted recruitment.

Your role

Lead a team in the planning and delivery of training and organisation development programs, services and projects to build capability within Youth Justice. Oversee workforce strategy, improved on-boarding and occupational specific recruitment, evidence-based reform, the development of operational training and the ongoing development of the organisation's culture, staff, leaders and identified talent to improve the sustainability, efficiency, cultural capability and performance of the Division.

Manage the Yasmar Training Facility whilst prioritising delivery of training and development solutions cost effectively to all regions.

What You'll Do

As the Senior Manager Organisational Development & Training you will

Lead, manage and develop the team responsible for the delivery of Youth Justice custodial training and development programs and services, including the ongoing review and refinement of operational training to deliver a sustainable and capable workforce and a high performing culture.
Liaise closely with the Practice and Implementation team to ensure the ongoing quality and integrity of the training, record keeping and reporting for community and head office staff (as community training developed and conducted by the Practice Training & Development Team within the Policy & Practice Directorate.
Ensure that Youth Justice Centres' bulk recruitment needs are managed and the relationship with the Talent Acquisition team and other stakeholders are maintained to enable workforce strategies to be met.
Identify and define the major strategic organisational issues for the Division and analyse workforce patterns and develop a model that informs workforce planning needs with regard to recruitment and on-boarding (particularly of custodial staff) and the training and development of casual, temporary, full-time staff and leaders to ensure the Division is adequately resourced and minimise expenses.
Provide specialist advice and solutions to ensure needs and requirements are identified and met to support evidence-based policy into operational training, on the-job-practice and ongoing development of required capabilities and culture, including identifying capability and skill gaps across the Division to deliver a safe, sustainable and capable workforce who can manage complex clients in a child-related context.
Prepare correspondence, briefings, reports and analysis on programs, research findings, emerging issues, risks and potential improvement opportunities and solutions.
Foster collaborative and mutually supportive relationships with leaders and senior stakeholders and represent the Department at external forums to enhance the Division's ability to better manage and respond to issues associated with operational training requirements.
Manage the Yasmar Training Facility at Haberfield including buildings, grounds, utilities, communications and technology and carry out effective risk management / planning in relation to safety, security and ongoing maintenance.
Review, evaluate and report on training and development programs, events and services and implement continuous improvement strategies to ensure key Departmental objectives are delivered and / or to provide a sustainable and capable workforce and a high-performance culture

What We're Looking For

Relevant tertiary qualifications / training and assessment qualification or similar discipline or extensive experience and background in the area of operational training, practice and program / project delivery and an understanding of issues related to mandated clients.
Current NSW drivers' licence
Extensive and regular travel will be required
NSW Working with Children Check
