Microsoft Product Owner – Versent – City of Melbourne
Versent is seeking a Product Owner to support and evolve the Microsoft Cloud Access & Resell Billing platform, a critical capability that enables customers to seamlessly procure, manage, and renew Microsoft solutions through Versent. This full‐time role is located in Melbourne, VIC.
What You'll Be Doing
Product & Operations
* Support and operate Versent's Microsoft Cloud Access & Resell billing product.
* Define and maintain the product vision, roadmap, and prioritised backlog.
* Lead end‐to‐end lifecycle management for Microsoft Resell and related platforms.
* Act as the central point of contact for Microsoft product catalogue offerings, ensuring accurate subscription pricing.
* Identify and resolve billing inconsistencies, credits, refunds, and commitment shortfalls.
* Drive automation to improve revenue visibility, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Engineering & Delivery
* Partner closely with engineering teams from discovery through to release.
* Lead the evolution of the Microsoft billing engine architecture, aligned with AWS billing where possible.
* Drive automation and optimisation across billing engines, reporting, and MIS dashboards.
* Manage and continuously refine the Microsoft Cloud Access product backlog.
Finance & Commercial
* Partner with Finance to ensure billing accuracy, compliance, and commercial integrity.
* Manage customer‐facing and Microsoft supplier‐facing billing and payable matters.
* Support financial targets across gross revenue, margins, EBITDA, MRR, renewals, and retention.
* Validate sales claims and ensure accuracy of Microsoft‐related financial operations.
* Monitor market trends, competitive pressures, and regulatory considerations.
Cross‐Cloud Collaboration
* Work closely with the AWS Product Manager to align cross‐cloud billing and commerce strategies.
* Support consistent, scalable billing experiences across Microsoft and AWS platforms.
What You'll Bring
* 5+ years' experience in Product Management or Program Management.
* Proven success owning product roadmaps and delivering complex platforms end‐to‐end.
* Experience with Microsoft billing, CSP, cloud commerce, or subscription platforms.
* Strong stakeholder management skills across technology, finance, and commercial teams.
* High attention to detail, particularly in billing, reporting, or revenue‐impacting products.
* Comfort working in ambiguity with competing priorities.
* A mindset that balances operational excellence with forward‐looking product development.
