Yadu Health Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit, community-controlled health service providing primary health care to Aboriginal communities in Ceduna, Koonibba, and surrounding areas. About the Role
Yadu Health is seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our Aged Care services team. There are multiple full time, part time and casual positions available for those who are passionate about providing support to the Elders Residents at Seaview Village, and to members of the community in their homes. Our Support Workers are critical in providing Residents and the Elders in our community with care and support to ensure that they have a safe, culturally appropriate, clean, comfortable, and secure living environment.
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Support Residents with activities of daily living, meals, mobility, and personal care needs.
• Provide companionship, emotional support, and encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
• Monitor Residents' health, assist with medications as directed, and promptly report any changes or concerns.
• Maintain accurate care records and ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment in line with health and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with Residents, families, and colleagues, while advocating for Residents' needs and completing required training.
This role requires someone who is proactive, culturally responsive, and deeply aligned with our mission to support First Nations health outcomes.
About You
You are a compassionate Support Worker who values cultural respect and understands the importance of person centred care in an Aboriginal community. You bring strong clinical skills, the ability to respond to changing health needs, and a commitment to maintaining dignity, independence, and quality of life for residents. To thrive in this position, we are looking for candidates who can meet the following criteria:
• Previous experience in a similar Aged Care role.
• Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent (or willingness to obtain) is highly desirable.
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is highly desirable.
• Valid Driver Licence (Class C or equivalent).
• Permanent work rights in Australia or work rights that do not require employer sponsorship.
