About the Department for Correctional ServicesThe Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. DutiesThe Correctional Educator provides learning services to students undertaking accredited training and instructional programs whilst under the supervision of Correctional Services. Correctional Educators will deliver and assess VTEC-SA registered education programmes of study or training, providing training and assessment for prisoners in line with the priorities of the Department for Correctional Services (DCS). The educator will determine and implement flexible delivery methodologies within the prescribed limits of the training program. In this advertised position, the educator will provide instruction in literacy and numeracy to adults, requiring experience in teaching literacy and numeracy to adult learners.
