About the Role
You will work across residential, commercial and industrial projects, ensuring scaffolds are erected, modified and dismantled safely, efficiently and to specification.
Leading Hands will supervise a small team and act as the primary point of contact for clients and supervisors, ensuring jobs are delivered to TAS standards at all times.
Skills & Experience Required
* Intermediate or Advanced Scaffolding Licence
* Leading Hands: Minimum 1 year experience in supervising or leading a team
* Working at Heights (valid within 2 years)
* White Card
* Unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence
* Reliable, honest and a committed team player
Preferred (Not Essential)
* Confined Space (valid within 2 years)
* COVID-19 vaccination (required for some sites)
* Forklift Licence

Job Description
The Leading Hand role requires a highly skilled, safety‑driven scaffolder who can manage a job from start to finish. This includes supervising the team, liaising with clients, reading drawings, preparing gear lists, and ensuring all scaffolds are erected and dismantled safely, efficiently and professionally. The role carries significant responsibility and requires consistent leadership, communication and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Site & Operational Duties
* Erect, modify and dismantle aluminium, steel and mobile scaffold systems
* Maintain general housekeeping on site and in the yard
* Complete handover certificates, SWMS, checklists and job paperwork
* Attend toolbox talks and implement any updates
* Inspect scaffold gear, separate damaged items, and ensure trucks are properly packed
* Keep company vehicles clean and fully stocked
* Take site photos before and after work and report any pre‑existing damage
* Ensure scaffold tags, banners and corflutes are installed correctly
Leadership & Client Interaction (Leading Hands)
* Walk through the job and SWMS with the team daily, ensuring they all sign
* Communicate directly with clients regarding layout, heights and access requirements
* Do not complete variations without estimator approval
* Ensure incomplete scaffold signage is displayed until handover
* Oversee productivity, minimise downtime and ensure labour is used effectively
* Enforce PPE, uniform and safety compliance at all times
* Report performance or conduct issues immediately
* Ensure gear lists are provided to the yard by 1pm daily
* Uphold TAS values, professionalism and presentation standards
* Execute all jobs safely, efficiently and profitably
* Consistently uphold TAS baseline standards
* Maintain a positive attitude and influence team culture
* Treat all clients and team members with respect
* Take ownership of personal development and training
* Work in alignment with OH&S procedures and TAS safety requirements
* Always be punctual, prepared and professional
* Strong leadership and problem‑solving ability
