Regional Officer Role
This role provides an opportunity to support the delivery of services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporations.
* Assist Indigenous organisations to register under the CATSI Act by creating their own governance framework and rule book.
* Support corporations in understanding and complying with the CATSI Act, as well as meeting their unique requirements.
* Aid corporations with governance meetings, reporting obligations, corporate governance training and dispute resolution.
This varied role involves working across different levels of Indigenous corporations: large impactful ones, small start-ups and those seeking assistance for growth. A successful candidate will be motivated, agile and resilient with a strong work ethic. They should be confident in learning new systems and processes while managing competing priorities effectively. Additionally they must have excellent verbal and written communication skills allowing them to engage successfully with First Nations people individually or in group settings.
The ideal candidate will provide timely responses to inquiries from Indigenous corporations regarding matters related to the CATSI Act using ORIC's systems. Furthermore they can interpret the legislation ensuring that these companies comply accordingly while advising on complex matters concerning company capability building opportunities particularly focusing on enhanced operational performance alongside efficient regulatory procedures.
